چکیده

Background SAPHO syndrome (synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteitis) is a rare disease with prevalence of less than 1 in 10,000 [1]. Among its musculoskeletal manifestations, enthesis involvement has been observed, which, along the axial led many authors to consider it as part spondyloarthropathies group diseases. Ultrasound assessment known be more sensitive specific physical examination. The Madrid Sonographic Enthesitis Index (MASEI) one most widely used tools for evaluation [2]. It examines six entheses (quadriceps, proximal distal patellar, Achilles, plantar fascia, triceps) assesses possible elementary lesions defined by OMERACT [3], plus Doppler. This allows both inflammatory activity structural damage (structure, thickness, erosions, calcifications, bursitis) [4]. While there have some ultrasound studies on enthesic SAPHO, demonstrating even asymptomatic patients [5], currently no validated index this disease. Objectives aim study describe findings Syndrome patients’ using MASEI index. Methods descriptive, cross-sectional, single-center study, carried out Rheumatology Service Ramón y Cajal Hospital (Madrid, Spain). A convenience sampling was out, including all under active follow-up our clinics. Results 12 were included (83.3% women), mean age 52.41 (±9.4) years at time study. 66.7% smokers, 25% ex-smokers. Mandibular Involvement in Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis Associated with SAPHO Syndrome

Introduction: SAPHO syndrome is defined as the association of a group of rare sterile osteoarticular disorders and inflammatory skin diseases whose etiology, although not yet determined, probably involves genetic, immunological and infectious mechanisms. The recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis, an inflammatory disease, can be associated with this syndrome even as a single event.  Case Report:...

SAPHO Syndrome: Imaging Findings of Vertebral Involvement.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Imaging findings in patients with a combination of synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteitis (SAPHO) are often misinterpreted as discitis/osteomyelitis or metastases, resulting in multiple biopsies and delayed diagnosis. We have incidentally noted a semicircular morphology in vertebral body imaging in several cases of SAPHO syndrome with vertebral involvemen...
